Explore the exhibition in the company of a cultural mediator from the HDE Var and find out about sports from Antiquity to the Renaissance from a whole new angle.
This exhibition, which has been certified as a ‘Cultural Olympiad’ by Paris 2024, is devoted to the history of sporting challenges from Antiquity to the Renaissance.
Under the direction of the exhibition's two co-curators, Jean-Paul Thuillier, professor emeritus at the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) and former member of the École Française de Rome, and Sébastien Nadot, historian and associate professor of physical education and sport, nearly 60 national and international museums have contributed to the collection of almost 200 works and reproductions.
To ensure that your visit runs smoothly, please be ready to arrive 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
Duration: please allow between 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes
The exhibition runs from 16 December 2023 to 24 March 2024 (inclusive), Monday to Sunday, 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.
Additional closures on Monday 25 December 2023 and 1 January 2024

The rooms are regulated at a temperature of 20°C to preserve the works of art. We recommend that you wear a light jacket to ensure that your visit is as comfortable as possible.
